Review - Dark Magick

The world has changed, we have changed. The world we once knew has fallen away and left us in a wasteland of Magick. Powerful witches and underworld gods control our lives. The past comes back in ways we are not prepared for. The Gatekeepers are our only hope. The question is if we can get to them first.

My review:

The authors have created a very interesting world. Its a fairly elaborate end of the world concept with both the good and the bad sides fighting over who will win and be in control. At times it was hard to follow but it was always interesting.

The story is told from 2 points of view of witches on the side of good. And though them we learn a lot about what they are facing now and trying to accomplish. What I thought was an issue that causes some confusion is you dont get a lot of backstory on how and why this war started turning everyone against each other. Aside from the community they live in you dont find out a lot about what is going on with the rest of the world after the cities were attacked.

While parts of the story are awkward and I feel there is a lot that could have been explained to ease the readers confusion. It is still a very interesting story and I am looking forward to finding out what happens next as this is obviously part of a series and ongoing fight between good and evil. Maybe more will be explained in the next book.
