Coastal Magic Author Spotlight - Cynthia Eden

What made you decide to go to Coastal Magic in 2014?

I attended the conference in 2013, and I had such an amazing time! The energy at the conference was fantastic—and I met so many wonderful people! When I had the opportunity to attend again, I jumped at it!

What are you looking forward to the most while there?

I’m looking forward to everything! J  But…mostly I am looking forward to meeting new people and catching up with old friends.  I love having the chance to interact with readers.

Will you have a new release or be promoting any specific book or series at the convention?

I will have two new releases then—my new phoenix shifter series (published by Kensington) will be available in February—the first book in the series is BURN FOR ME. I will also be preparing to release a new indie series, as well—BLOOD IN MOONLIGHT will be the first release in that series.

Is there anything you would like to share with the attendees before they get there?  Or anything you want to share with those still deciding if they want to go?

If you’re looking for a fun, uber friendly convention—then this one is for you! Come relax at the beach and have a fabulous time!

Coastal Magic Author Spotlight - Rosalie Lario

What made you decide to go to Coastal Magic in 2014?
I attended the 2013 version of the conference in St. Augustine (called Olde City, New Blood), and I had a total blast! I'd only heard about the conference a few months before it was held, and since it was in my home state of Florida, I decided to attend. It totally blew me away. Meeting other authors and readers who share my love of the paranormal was so much fun, and I vowed then and there I'd return for 2014.

What are you looking forward to the most while there?
I'm looking forward to reconnecting with all the amazing people I met at the 2013 conference, and to meeting more hardcore paranormal fans. Supernatural Sam and Dean lovers, be sure to look me up!

Will you have a new release or be promoting any specific book or series at the convention?
Touch of the Angel, Book 3 in my Demons of Infernum series, releases in November of this year, so I'll be promoting that book, as well as plugging the upcoming release of Call of the Siren, the final book in the series (May 2014).

Is there anything you would like to share with the attendees before they get there?  Or anything you want to share with those still deciding if they want to go?
If you, like me, have a never-ending love for anything paranormal, you've got to make it there! You will meet the most amazing people and have so much fun that you'll be dying to sign up for the next year before you even leave the conference!

Coastal Magic Author Spotlight - Lia Davis

What made you decide to go to Coastal Magic in 2014?
The first thing that caught my attention was it was so close to home. LOL. This will be the first conference where I’ll be a featured author and I’m so excited to be going.

What are you looking forward to the most while there?

I’m looking forward to meeting readers and being able to talk with them and just hang out. I’m also excited about meeting other authors.

Will you have a new release or be promoting any specific book or series at the convention?

I’ll have a news series out by then and do plan on promoting it as well as my current one. The new series is called Sons of War and surrounds the lives of five immortal dragon-shifters, who are also the sons of Ares, Greek God of War. I’m excited about the series because it has two of my favorite things: dragons and Greek Mythology!

Is there anything you would like to share with the attendees before they get there?  Or anything you want to share with those still deciding if they want to go?
Just that I so hope those who are on the fence about it goes. It sounds like a lot of fun. I’m shy and tend to hang back from crowds, but I’m going to try to step out of my comfort zone and have fun!

Coastal Magic Author Spotlight - Nancy Haddock

What made you decide to go to Coastal Magic in 2014? I had such a wonderful experience at Old City, New Blood last February, that I had to do Coastal Magic! The presentations were a joy to give and attend, and meeting readers always tops the list of perfect fun!

What are you looking forward to the most while there?
Not to be redundant, but meeting readers ... and the awesome bloggers, and meeting fellow authors, too! I love getting to know people!

Will you have a new release or be promoting any specific book or series at the convention?
Probably nothing new, unless I get my rear in hyper gear and indie publish. I don't have current plans to promote anything hugely, but my Gidget with Fangs mystery-romance trilogy is still available!  I do have a new contract for 3 cozy mysteries to be published with Berkley Prime Crime. The first book would be released sometime in 2015. I'd love to get a ghost in a book or two, but we'll have to see.

Is there anything you would like to share with the attendees before they get there?  Or anything you want to share with those still deciding if they want to go?

This is a relaxed, easy way to meet and hang out with authors, bloggers and fellow readers, so come comfy and ready to have a fabulous time! February in Florida can be fickle, so plan to layer. (And check the weather prior to your trip, too!) Last year was plenty warm enough to walk the beach, and, hey, we don't let much other than hurricanes stop our beach walks! Overall, you can look forward to authors and bloggers who are interested in meeting YOU, and you'll be surrounded by book lovers in a gorgeous setting. What's better?

Coastal Magic Author Spotlight - Rebecca Zanetti

What made you decide to go to Coastal Magic in 2014?
I've heard such wonderful things about Coastal Magic, and I haven't been to Florida for a while, so I thought it'd be a good conference to attend.  Also, the lineup of authors is pretty amazing, and I'm excited to meet some of my favorite writers.

What are you looking forward to the most while there?
This is such a fun question!  I'm most looking forward to meeting readers and fans from the area.  I live in the Pacific NW and don't get a lot of chances to connect with readers from areas like Florida, so this will be a wonderful chance to do that.  Fans always have such amazing insights and questions about the characters in my books, so I always have fun with them.

Will you have a new release or be promoting any specific book or series at the convention?
Let's see.  Well, the newest novella in the Dark Protector series (TAMED) will probably be released around that time, and the print version of FORGOTTEN SINS will recently be available, so I'll be promoting those books at that time of year.

Is there anything you would like to share with the attendees before they get there?  Or anything you want to share with those still deciding if they want to go?
I'd say...come to the conference!  Bring questions, bring ideas, and bring yourself for some seriously fun times with a bunch of authors.  We love to meet fans and have fun!

Coastal Magic Author Spotlight - Laurie London

What made you decide to go to Coastal Magic in 2014?
I attended the conference last year and had a blast. As soon as I found out it was happening again, I knew I had to go.

What are you looking forward to the most while there?

I love the intimate atmosphere where I can chat with readers and other authors who are as passionate about paranormal romance as I am.

Will you have a new release or be promoting any specific book or series at the convention?

Yes, I'll have several new books out by then. Book 2 in the Iron Portal series (Rogue's Passion) comes out this summer and I've got a Sweetblood
vampire story coming out around the holidays.

Is there anything you would like to share with the attendees before they get there?  Or anything you want to share with those still deciding if they want to go?

If you love paranormal romance and/or urban fantasy, this is the perfect conference. It's not too big to be intimidating. Plus, Jennifer puts on a fun, well-organized and stress-free event.

Coastal Magic Author Spotlight - Aria Kane

What made you decide to go to Coastal Magic in 2014? I went last year (as a reader & blogger) and it was a total blast! I love the low reader-to-author ratio and all the time you get to spend with any author you'd like to meet. It just has a really cool, laid-back, everybody's-friends atmosphere.

What are you looking forward to the most while there?
Both seeing all my author-friends I only get to see once or twice a year, and meeting new friends! I love meeting all the bloggers and readers - they're amazing people and they love this genre so much.

Will you have a new release or be promoting any specific book or series at the convention?
The main book I'll be promoting is my current release Once Upon a Darkness, a zombie retelling of Hansel & Gretel. I will also have a new release at the time, but it's contemporary romance and I'm not yet sure if it will be available in print.

Is there anything you would like to share with the attendees before they get there?  Or anything

you want to share with those still deciding if they want to go?
If you are even remotely interested, you should definitely go to this Con! It's an absolute blast!

Coastal Magic Author Spotlight - Alex Hughes

I decided to go to Coastal Magic in 2014 based on the incredible warm reception and amazing conference Jennifer organized last year (back when it was called Olde City New Blood). It was one of the most casual and delightful conferences I've ever been to, and I feel like I got to know readers, bloggers and other authors in a really cool way. I'm very much looking forward to it again.

I'm very much looking forward to meeting some amazing people who love books the way I do. Plus, I'm hoping we'll do Character Dating and a Flash Fiction panels again - those were so fun!

I'll be promoting my Mindspace Investigations series, the third book of which
will be out that April.

I love meeting readers! You guys make everything possible. I'm hoping to see you there--make sure to stop me and say hi in the hallways :)

Coastal Magic Author Spotlight - Suzanne Johnson

What made you decide to go to Coastal Magic in 2014?
In 2012 and 2013, I tested out some smaller reader-oriented conventions and some of the mega-conventions, and decided I really love the ambiance of the smaller ones. I love being able to talk to readers and relax and chat, so when I heard about Coastal Magic, I knew it would be ideal. Plus, it's in the Southeast, which means an easier travel time for me. AND...Daytona Beach in February? Seriously, that's pretty awesome!

What are you looking forward to the most while there?
The chance to talk to readers who've read my books, and to readers who maybe haven't been introduced to them. And all of them are fans of the paranormal/urban fantasy genres. I know some folks who've read my Sentinels of New Orleans urban fantasy series under the name Suzanne Johnson don't realize I also write paranormal romance under the name Susannah Sandlin, and vice-versa. So I get to be "both of me." Authors are doing things like having breakfast with readers every morning, and doing smaller gatherings, so it should really be fun!

Will you have a new release or be promoting any specific book or series at the convention?
Elysian Fields, the third book in my Sentinels of New Orleans series, came out in mid-August and should be coming out in paperback about the time of Coastal Magic. I also have a couple of things in the works, such as Deliverance, the fourth book in my Penton series (under the Sandlin name), but am not sure of the timing yet.

Is there anything you would like to share with the attendees before they get there?  Or anything you want to share with those still deciding if they want to go?
I think it's going to be a lot of fun. There are a lot of great authors who'll be there (I might do some fangirl stalking myself), and it's a chance to talk paranormal with other people who love it. And, uh, did I mention it's at Daytona Beach in February?

Coastal Magic Author Spotlight - Ashlyn Chase

What made me decide to go to Coastal Magic in February?
I was invited! Seriously. This is the first time a conference committee has actually requested the pleasure of my company. LOL I'm an absolute sucker for flattery. When I saw it was in Florida in February, that clinched it. Goodbye snow!

What am I looking forward to most?
You know...the usual. Hugs, mutual adoration, rubbing elbows with my peeps, and meeting new best friends.

Will I have a new release?

Heck, yeah! I'm just coming out with a whole new series called Flirting with Fangs. My publisher will be giving away 100 copies of book 1 Flirting Under a Full Moon. I'll be signing book 2 How to Date a Dragon at the book signing. (Is it open to the public? I hope so. More new best friends!) And...book 3, Kissing With Fangs is scheduled for release in March. I'll bring book plates to autograph for those who want to pick it up a month later. :-)

Anything to share with attendees?
If they'd like me to sign any of my older books that they already have, I'd be happy to. Just bring them along and find me any time during the conference.

Coastal Magic 2014

Hi everyone.  Thanks for visiting.

Registration is now open for the Coastal Magic Convention this February in Daytona Beach.  If you heard about how great and fun Olde City New Blood was this year, this is the same convention in a new location.  This year it is being held at the Hilton in Daytona Beach.

This year was tons of fun and great to meet other people who read the same paranormal and urban fantasy books that we all love along with meeting and chatting with the fabulous authors who write them.  Check out the featured authors list on the website.

The convention is very affordable, $70 for the weekend and includes lunch on Saturday and full of great sessions and meet and great opportunities.  There is also a charity signing opportunity.  And if you are from the Midwest like I am, a great reason to visit Florida in February.

Once you register there are additional activities you can sign up for as well,  but be warned space is limited for all.  There's the Bad Movie Tweet Up, which I sadly missed last year but I have heard nothing but great things about how fun it was.  There are author breakfast chances for Friday and Saturday.  And there is even Supernatural Laser Tag on Friday night.

For more information visit the website here.  Or if you are already sold you can click here to register now.

Im excited and cant wait.  Hope to meet you there!
