Review - Take It Like A Vamp

Vampire Nick Christos might have been born in the Middle Ages, but those days seem tame compared to the last eight years spent ruling the Supernatural Council. The only respite in his long days of governing is with his sweet neighbor Casey Meyers. Sure, he’s forced to take a cold shower after every encounter, but no way will he risk anything more with a human. Not with his blood thirsty ex on the prowl and out to ruin Nick’s life.

But when said crazy ex shows up at the ball and flies her freak flag high, Nick has more to worry about than keeping his hands off his neighbor. He’ll have to stay closer than ever if he hopes to keep her alive, but will she want to leave him forever when she learns the truth?

My review:

I was hooked on this book from the beginning.  I actually was almost 100 pages in before I even realized it.  Both characters are interesting and fun to read.

Casey is best friends with Nick and has also had a crush of him from the moment they met.  She feels he is way out of his league since he is always seen with model types.  We have a great time reading how Nick works to change her image of him and to make her understand he really likes her as more than a friend.

But at the same time, Nick is a high ranking member of a Supernatural Council.  And as a result is always in danger from some form.  Having Casey around, puts her in danger as well as some will try to get at him though anyone or anything he cares about.  He has to figure out how to protect Casey and take care of the threat without her finding out too much too fast and running away instead.

Fun story, great read.  Highly recommended for anyone who loves a good paranormal romance.
